Background images for rows, basic modules, working very erratically.

Struggling with a problem that I can’t get to the bottom of. I’m unable to change the background of rows, and adding modules such as text fields is hit or miss. Sometimes I can drag a text module into a column, and sometimes I can’t.

I’ve uploaded a video of what I’m experiencing here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QD-AfSjJl0c

Since I made that video, I’ve disabled plugins and removed any JS errors, but the problem still exists.

I’ve made sure the /wp-content/uploads directory has write privileges… set it to 775.

Any other ideas.

I’ve searched across the forums, and found a few similar issues. Like this one :

Hey James,

Well, that’s interesting! Can you send along temp admin access via private reply so we can look into this further for you?

Best,

Hey James,

That is interesting, I am getting weird issues as well with no errors of any sort. Have you tried contacting your host like the other issue by chance? If not, no worries, we can dig further, but I am thinking this could be similar. Can you also send along FTP access?

Best,
Billy

Hey James,

Sorry a bit late here. I’m getting a JS error when adding a Text Editor module on a test page. Is this a live site? Do you think we can disable any plugins and/or change themes to check?

Hey James,

What tool did you use when you migrated the site? Have you tried reinstalling the plugin? Or maybe just update it to the latest version that was released yesterday. Do you think you could zip us a copy of the site/DB or Dropbox it so we can check on our local dev environment? You can send it to themes [at] fastlinemedia [dot] com.

Question about file permissions :

BeaverBuilder is clearly able to write to wp-uploads. I can delete the cache and it is recreated, but I notice in the bb-plugin/cache directory, all the files have permissions are set to 644. Is that ok?

wp-content/uploads/bb-plugin/cache $
-rw-r–r-- 1 wp_kxq–a pg8497772 11318 Jul 22 21:26 316-layout.css
-rw-r–r-- 1 wp_kxq–a pg8497772 11318 Jul 22 21:26 316-layout-draft.css

I’ve been able to migrate the live site back to my local, and things seem to ‘mostly’ work fine… well, at least 90% better.

Hey James,

Not really sure myself how the git migration works. I just downloaded your site, placed it on my localhost, ran the serialized search and replace script and it works just fine. Is this a copy from the live site you have or from before you migrated the site, i.e., local copy? Is this the first BB site you have on dreamhost? I’m thinking it may have something to do with the hosting.
