Can not access any component to edit

Good morning,

I have just started a new site and is trying to set up a coming soon page. I have used the coming soon template and the black template and i am getting the same problem. When i eg add header module and want to ga back into the module the little spanner option does not show up except for the background. in other words i can not access anything to edit.
