Contact & Subscription Modules Not Working

Hi
I have recently built a website and added the contact and subscription module to the site, but it appears to not work as when I test the contact form for example, I do not receive any email. I know my email works and I have added my email correctly but nothing comes through.

Am I missing something with the set up?
