Have just updated to version 1.75 and have customers reporting broken images across our multisite install. Seems like the srcset is replacing a ‘-’ with ‘/’ and so the image isn’t rendering.
If I set the image again it is find in the page builder but on hitting publish the image reverts to trying to pull in the wrong link.
Any fix on this? Will post example site in a private post.
I just checked the URL above and it seems all images are working fine. Is there a page/site where this issue is still happening so we can see it? Also, do you think you have 3rd party plugins which may have caused this? We’ve released 1.7.5 for a while now and if this issue is related to BB, I’m thinking we would have gotten an influx of support threads for the same, but this is the first time.
I had to get that fixed for my customer but will post another example for you in a private message now. Had only updated BB & also core WP so not sure. Had images always referenced srcset?
The srcset attributes were added on WP 4.4 so we followed suit but we’re not doing anything special, we’re simply letting WP handle that part.
Are these 2 sites on the same server? Are their setup the same? Do they have any kind of caching in place? It seems like WP is thinking the first word of the image is a directory. Is it possible for you to turn off everything, leaving just BB activated and see if you’re getting the same thing?
Both sites within the one multisite install amongst a bunch of others. Same settings and I can’t take down plugins for active sites at the moment - would have to wait till over the weekend at low usage points.
Had fixed that one image by removing the ‘-’ and re-uploading but can’t scale that across all sites. I’ll check around to see if this has affected any other wordpress installs generally but any other recommendations that spring to mind?
Glad you figured it out! And thanks for taking the time to inform us as well as sharing the thread. It does indicate though that the official fix is in 4.4.1? Does that mean you were running the version before it, 4.4?
