php in header and footer layout content text areas

Hi,
Great theme, I am really loving it.
Is it possible to add php code in header and footer layout content text areas?
My attempts have failed.
For example;
© <?php echo date(“Y”) ?>
or <?php echo do_shortcode(’[fblike]’);?>

Thanks for your quick response.
If we could pass php through these fields we could add some dynamic content in these areas.
Perhaps this could go on your things to do list?
