Why is my blog post feature image blurry?

Hey Guys,

I wanted to know if you can help me. My featured images on my main blog post page are blurry but when you click to read the post it’s clear. Any ideas?

I’m using beaver child theme.

Hey Alex! It looks like the images you’re uploading are smaller than the container. The featured images are displayed at ~720x346 pixels. You’ll want to upload images that are at least that size; otherwise they’ll look blurry. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Thx Robby but my images are 808x388 pixels. So they should be fine. Any ideas?

Hmm. The image that is being loaded on the page is much smaller. If you can set me up with a temporary admin login to your site, I’d be happy to take a look. Not sure why the full size image isn’t loading.

Hey Alex,

This is caused by the size you set on your Post module. It’s currently set to Medium(max 300x300). I suggest changing it to Large but you can always change those max dimensions under Settings > Media.

It has been on large all the time. I just went in and changed the large to 1500x1200 and still no change in size on the blog posts. Any thoughts?

Hey Alex,

I’m assuming you are checking the Post itself and not the Posts module on the page. I have changed it to large and that fixed the issue(check screenshot). I noticed you changed the dimensions of Medium. That won’t take effect immediately since the Medium sized image has already been generated by WP. You’ll have to regenerate those images using a plugin called Regenerate Thumbnails.

Just wanted to add that I had this same issue and that setting the image to large DOES fix it.
