This is my first time posting as I have just bought the pro version. I do have a couple of questions I was hoping you may be able to help me with.
I was watching Dynamic Beaver video @Setting the Beaver Building Theme - Part 1. Around 3 minutes in and I can’t continue, as he clicks on an option under ‘Appearances’ which I don’t have - Theme Settings. I tried a number of things (to no avail, I even messed up word press to the point I had to do a full install! After reinstalling WP, it’s still not there). How do I get that cap in WordPress?
I want to know if there are options in BB where I have more control over the header section. At the the moment I find the customize section very clumsy and lacking in options. Is there anywhere else I can make the header I want?
That setting is no longer available, it's all consolidated in the Customizer now.
The only controls you have for the header are under Appearance > Customizer > Header. There are 3 layouts you can choose from, Navigation Right, Navigation Bottom and Navigation Centered. All the other settings are for the logo, content, colors, and etc.
You can do that within the Page Builder, not the theme. :)
With regards to point 2, are there any other settings that I may be able to use to customize the header? Perhaps in page builder (create my own?). The reason I state this is because the customize>header option is very very basic (mixed with my lack of experience.
Are there any tutorials out there that may shed some light?
Sorry to say but those are the only settings we have for our header. You can instead use our No Header/Footer template for Pages and you can create your own Header using the Page Builder. But take note, this only works for pages.
I think we are confusing Skins and Templates here & to some extent it is different WP .
Dynamik has skins
BB builder has templates
And the BB theme has presets which is a number of layouts with predefined colours etc… (and if the pages are full width or boxed, that sort of thing).
In the BB theme you select your preset under Appearance >> Customize >> Presets - then select them from the drop down and decide which one is closest to what you want, which them gives you a starting point for a new site…
