Hello, I’m currently doing some SEO for my images and after reading an article I realized the importance of adding title attributes. I can’t seem to find a way to access the image advanced options thru the Beaver theme. Or maybe it’s not necessary as some themes add it by default using the image title? Please advise.
Charles
Here is the part of the article that I read.
– In previous incarnations of WordPress the Title field was mapped to the optional HTML title attribute. This resulted in the title of the image appearing as a tooltip any time a mouse hovered over it. In the current incarnation of WordPress the title attribute for the image itself and also the optional image link are added separately. To do so you have to add the image to the post, then reopen it by selecting it and clicking the pen icon in the top left hand corner, and toggle the Advanced Options section of the Image Details modal window.–
Thanks for getting in touch! I’m not really an SEO guy(still learning the tech) so I’ll get the guys in on this thread to check my answer. The title attribute doesn’t have any semantics. Search engines check the alt attribute instead which you can easily add to each image before adding them in when using the Photo module(see screenshot). http://imgur.com/i1CdDq8
However, you can still use our Text Editor module, which acts just like the WP Editor, and do the steps provided on the article. You should have access to the image title attribute that way. Here is a thread from SE for more information regarding title vs alt.
Sorry Charles, was composing my reply while this thread was opened so I never noticed your reply. Anyway, you can read the above for more information as well.
