Are shortcodes supported in the text editor module?

I used the [gallery] and [display-posts] shortcode in the Text Editor module and the output appeared when I clicked “Save and Finish”

But when I Publish Changes, the content is replaced with shortcodes both in the Page Builder and live page:

Are shortcodes supported in the text editor? Or should I only stick to modules (and making my own custom modules)?

Despite this hiccup I am really enjoying the Page Builder plugin. Thanks!

Hi David,

Thanks for letting us know! We’re testing this out on our end and will let you know what we find.

Justin

Hi David, I did some testing and I was able to get both the gallery and display posts short codes working in my testing enviroment. I am not sure why they aren’t working on your end. Is there any way I could get access to your site to play around? Also, is this the display posts plugin you are using: https://wordpress.org/plugins/display-posts-shortcode/stats/?

I am wondering if maybe the WordPress text editor is wrapping tags around your short code and maybe that’s why they’re not rendering. Can you double check that there is nothing else in the text box except for the short code? You can nest short codes with text, but for testing this issue it would be good to clear everything else out.

Hi Robby, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. If you can’t reproduce it on your end then it’s likely something in my dev install. It’s got a bazillion plugins so I’m not surprised. I’m also neck deep in a project so while I wanted to use the Page Builder for it I’m going to hold off using it on another project when i’m not so busy!

Sounds good David! Let me know if you have any more questions. Good luck with your project.
