My client uses Aweber who don’t allow role-based email addresses to sign up unless it is through an actual form or manually added. Usually with subscription forms (such as PopupAlly etc) you use the html which bypasses this but because BB uses a link format to Aweber (through the settings) this is the error you get when you try to put a role-based email address in (see image on link).
It is by inserting the raw html of the sign up form - most pop ups or subscription plugins ask you to do this rather than providing a link (see link for image). Is there any chance at all this could be possible in the future? My head hurts at the number of subscription modules on a large number of sites I am going to need to find an alternative for because I am guessing it will be the same problem for Mailchimp who also don’t allow role based email addresses Plus everyone else who use the Subscription module!
When you say HTML and link what do you mean exactly? Do you mean you need to use the HTML version of the form to bypass the role based email addresses?
According to Aweber support if you use the html form data it allows you to use role-based email addresses (just with extra spam control) but if it is done via linking to the account (as the subscriber module is) then all role based email addresses will be rejected
Thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, I don’t think this is going to be possible with the Subscriber module and you will need to use the HTML based form instead.
