Background image missing /wrong position on Ipad/Iphone

Hi

on this page http://www.jetteschrum.dk/priser/, I have set an background image in the row. When i test it making the browser smaller or using ex screenfly, it looks alright. But when testing it on an real Iphone or IPad, the image position is not positioned as on desktop. It looks like it is as “scroll” and not “static” as it is and shows on desktops. I have now hidden the image on Iphone with css, but I would like to have the image to show up on an Ipad.

Do you have any solution to make this happen?

Thanks in advance

Hi Jette,

Is it possible to set it so that the image is visible on iPhones/iPads so we can see the issue ourselves?

Thanks,
Danny

yes, actually its only hidden below 600px (but still not visible on IPAD) - but I have removed the css and now its to be found mid down the page when checking on a Iphone, but still completely gone on Ipad

Hi Jette,

I have looked on BrowserStack for both iPad and iPhone and your site looks the same as it does on Desktop (when browser width is reduced).

When I reduce my browsers width the background image appears in the same position as it does on the iOS devices.

Therefore, how do you want the background image look on mobile devices?

Also, what option do you have selected for background size? As iOs devices have issues with background images being fixed when used with cover. However, when viewing you image, I see no option for background size?

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Danny

Yes, it looks the same on smaller screen sizes (reducing browser with), but on checking a real Ipad/Iphone the image is positioned differently and that makes sense, when you say iOs devices have issues with fixed background images.

On Iphone, I want the image not to appear and I can fix that with CSS. On Ipad, I want it to look like on desktop, means it should be fixed in top right corner - in BB I have set the background image to fixed.

Is there a way to get around the iOs issue with fixed images?

Hi Again

I’d really appreciate to get your view on above.

Thanks in advance
Jette

Hey Jette,

Just took a look at the issue here and unfortunately, I’m not sure there is a solution for the iPad on this one. I see the effect you are going for, but as Danny mentioned the issue with iOs and fixed bg images, we may be at a loss here. Have you tried manually inserting a bg image with CSS and a media query? That may be our only option here though I’m still not sure if that will accomplish what you are looking for. Sorry I don’t have a better answer here for you.

Best,
Billy
