Beaver Builder Nextgen conflict

Hi there!

I believe this issue cropped up after upgrading to the latest version of the Beaver Builder plugin. I didn’t notice any issues before that.

I am using both Nextgen and Beaver Builder and have been for a long time. Nearly all the pages on the site use the PageBuilder. The theme is Evolution.

I have several places throughout the site where I’ve placed an image and then linked that image to pages deeper in the site. These have all worked just fine until now.

Now, when I click on one of these images to go deeper into the site, a Nextgen lightroom-type gallery pops up and gives me a whole list of image not found errors with URLs showing what is not found. But these URLs are for other pages on the site, not for images even though it tells me image not found. All the URLs it gives are actually working URLs of pages. I can navigate to these URLs by copying and pasting them from the error message and I can also navigate to applicable ones from the main navigation menu of the site. So they are not really not found.

Beaver Builder is the only active plugin that I updated before noticing this issue, which happens to be a big one since people can’t navigate deeper into the site!=.

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi Rachel,

Sorry to hear about your issue.

So we can get to the bottom of it, would it be possible for you to provide temp admin access, please?

If so, be sure to set your reply as private

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Rachel,

The issue is caused by WP Super Cache, I cleared the cache and now the images appear to be working. Whenever, you update WordPress or plugins, be sure to clear your cache.

Can you test this yourself and let me know if this is how the images should be working, please?

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Rachel,

Can you update to the latest version of Beaver Builder. Once updated, please disable all active plugins except for BB and the Nextgen gallery Plus plugin. When you have done, reply here so we can do some further testing.

I do not believe this is related to BB, as when the issue happened and it does seem sporadic. When I opened the browser console, there was a Server 500 error for the page the image is linked to. So it could well be a server issue.

Cloudup

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Rachel,

Just checking in to see if you have your issue resolved?

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Danny,

Funny, I was writing you as you were writing me. Thank you so much for checking in.

I am wondering if the server error was temporary, I couldn’t replicate it.

I went ahead and both updated the BB plugin and turned off all plugins except for 3: BB, NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati, NextGEN Plus by Photocrati. I cleared the cache after turning all of them off except for WP Super Cache and then turned that one off last. The issue was still there with all plugins off except for these 3.

Then, I turned off NextGEN Plus by Photocrati and the issue was resolved. Turned it back on and the issue was back.

The site is now sitting with all plugins off expect for BB and NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati.

Note with all the plugins off, the login URL has changed.

Thanks for any help you can provide!!!

Hi Rachel,

I have checked again and I honestly believe this is an issue with the Plus version of the plugin. Your image links are working fine when the Plus version isn’t activated. When it is, it loads up the lightbox which shouldn’t be happening.

It’s as though the plugin has a bug or glitch where it is opening all images in lightbox effects. The best course of action is to contact their support and show them what is happening.

FYI, you’re still receiving the Server 500 error, it may be related to the plugin. As I am receiving this error when the Plus Nextgen is disabled.

Please, keep us posted with what they say.

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Rachel,

Indeed it is. I believe there maybe some conflict with the Nextgen Plus plugin that could well be related to WordPress 4.4 update and implementation of srcset for responsive images.

Beaver Builder also uses this functionality for all images uploaded in the builder.

I think you most certainly need to contact Nextgen support for further assistance. However, please keep us in the loop, if that’s ok?

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Rachel,

I don’t really have much experience with Lightbox plugins. As most of them apply the effect to all images added, when most of the time this isn’t what you want.

So the time I needed to apply a lightbox effect, I used a script instead, then added the attribute to the images I wanted the effect on. I think the script was what I have linked below, but this was sometime a go, so I can’t be certain.

Thanks,
Danny

Thanks, I appreciate your efforts with this!

No problem, Rachel.

Thanks,
Danny
