I have a very simple site I’m designing. It’s got 4 pages. Three of the pages have been designed using Beaver Builder. The only other page to design is the blog page itself – the page where my blogs will show up. But Beaver Builder is not installed on that page for some reason. How do I get it installed?
Hey Peter,
Thanks for getting in touch! Beaver Builder can’t actually operate on the native WP posts page, sorry about that. We are hoping to have that functionality available at some point in the near future though. For now, the workaround is to create your own page for a blog and use our posts’ modules and whatever else you would like in terms of BB modules. Just make sure not to assign the posts page in your reading settings!
Best,
Billy
Let me just make sure I understand: I’ve got a page designated as the BLOG page. BeaverBuilder has no ability to help me design that page?
No, unfortunately, not at this time if it is set as the posts page in the reading settings as then WP is generating it’s own posts page that BB doesn’t have access to. Sorry about that. Give the workaround I mentioned a try. It allows you to have a lot more control over the look and feel of the blog page and we even have a sidebar layout you can use to accomplish that standard blog look. Hope that helps!
Best,
Billy
I’m trying to explore your work-around, and can’t seem to do anything in the standard WordPress editor to edit my blog page.
Hey Peter,
If you are attempting to use BB on an actual single post, it may be that you have to enable that option in the page builder settings. In your dashboard, go to settings > page builder > post types and make sure posts is checked. That should get you going there.
Best,
Billy
Nope, I’m not attempting to use BB on an actual single post. I’m just trying to design the page that has been designated as the BLOG page. I understand that you’re telling me that BB can’t do that, so now I’m trying to figure out how to do it just using WordPress.
I just talked to my host to get some ideas about how to change the look of the blog page. They took a look at it and said that it looks like something is wrong with the coding. We haven’t touched the coding. So I’m wondering if BB has interfered with this page in some way.
Is there a way I can send you an image file so that I can show you what the blog page looks like? I can’t send you a link, because the website is still in development and hasn’t been made public yet.
Hey Peter,
Typically, modifying the actual posts page that WP generates will take some coding. Not sure how BB could have interfered with the coding on that particular page, but one thing to check is to go to your pages list in the dashboard. Go into whichever page you have elected as the posts page and make sure it is set to the text editor tab and update the page. Perhaps that will clear it up?
Best,
Billy
Just did that, thanks. No luck, no change.
I just did an image capture of the page and uploaded the image to DropBox. Can you take a look?

As hopefully you can see, my WordPress nav bar and logo are at the top of the screen, but all of the blog elements are overlapping it.
I need to figure out how to generate a header image that can go behind the nav bar and the logo, and push down all the blog elements.
Hey Peter,
That is strange, what theme are you using?
Best,
Billy
Beaver Builder Child Theme
Ah, thought it looked familiar! Ok, so something is awry with your code perhaps. Have you looked over all of your code to ensure all if correct and not the root cause? Also, if you caching installed, clear it as well as the BB cache in the page builder settings panel. Let me know how it goes!
Best,
Billy
No, I haven’t looked over all of my code. I’m not a coder, and don’t know what to look for.
Just spent a while searching for where and how to clear the cahce. Just went to Settings / Page Builder / Cache and clicked on “Clear Cache.” Then I viewed the page again. No change.
Gotcha. A good test would be to cut out all of your custom code, save, and then take a look. If it is working as it should sans your custom styling, then we know the issue is somewhere in the custom code. Give that a shot and let me know what you find.
Best,
Billy
Thanks, Billy. Can you tell me where to look in WordPress to find custom code that may have been added?
Hey Peter,
I’d just like to chime in here. This looks like a styling issue. Do you mind sharing the URL of the page in question? Go ahead and share temp admin access to the site as well if it’s needed for us to see it. You can use the private reply option below.
