Has anyone encountered an issue where I have an acf field setup in the back end to use a color picker or a select value to choose post background color, but when I link the fields using themer, no color is displayed?

The posts module is set to join up with the ACF Field with name session_colour with the connection set to be ACF Post Field - Color
Can you detail your setup? Is the background color supposed to be on the whole module or on the individual posts inside the module?
Screenshots would be helpful to see your field setup and then the field connection in the actual module.
