Buddypress and bbpress widgets

I have set up Buddypress and bbpress and cant figure out how to enable some side widgets in those parts of the site. Any help much appreciated?

Hey Brian,

Thanks for getting in touch! Can you explain your issue in a bit more detail? Are you attempting to use BB in the bbpress pages or just trying to add widgets to the bbpress sidebar?

BTW - we’re looking into your other forum post now and should have an answer for you soon!

Best,
Billy

Sorry for not making it clear.

I would like to add bpress and Buddypress widgets into the side bar?

Thanks

Hi Brian,

Thanks! You should be able to add bbpress widgets using the page builder under the WordPress widgets section if using the page builder editing interface. If you have a sidebar activated as a page template, you can add bbpress widgets there via the dashboard > Appearance > Widgets. Let me know if that helps!

Best,
Billy

Sorry maybe not clear again, I would like to add widgets into the Buddypress/bbress parts of the site only!

Hey Brian,

I’ll take a quick look in your site, would you mind sending me temp login access via private reply?

Best,
Billy

Hey Brian,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you on this. So in terms of a sidebar on the bbpress pages, you’ll need to manually set a sidebar on each page that you would like it on. This can be done in the WordPress editor of each page via the template drop down under page attributes. You can then go to the widgets section in your dashboard and add whatever widgets you would like to show up in that sidebar wherever you choose to use it. Another option would be to add an additional sidebar to the theme if you need the primary sidebar to be different for other pages. The process/how-to for that can be found by doing a bit of googling, but this Codex article is a great start if you are after creating another sidebar. Let me know if I can assist further!

Best,
Billy
