Earlier I reported that when specifying full size for the images in the images module they don’t display. So I have been using large (1024 x768). This displays well in Chrome.
A visitor now reports that large is not visible on Safari. I checked this, and he is right. It is the same problem as with chrome, but with a smaller image size. The MAC book Pro that I tried it on has a retina display, so it is not a problem with the size of the screen.
Can you flush the cache from the cache plugin you have installed and then disable the cache plugin. Then try again and see if the images are now visible.
I honestly think this may be related to your cache plugin.
Hi Danny,
I did that, but the issue is still there. We also saw it when logged in, and the cache plugin does not cache for logged in user. But without cache it does not work either.
Can you please do the following?
Go the page, and open it with Pagebuilder. Open the image and change the size to medium. Observe that the image now appears. Change it back to large. Observe that it disappears.
I did as you suggested and changed the image size from large to medium, then saved. The image was still visible on my end and then changed back to large. Again, the image was and is still visible.
Therefore, I saved your duck image to my MacBook Pro and then uploaded it to a Photo module on my vanilla (no plugins) test site.
I then used Large size format and saved, then viewed it on Safari. No issue.
Then changed to Medium size format and saved, then viewed on Safari, again no issue.
So I changed back to Large and again, no issue.
Therefore, can you disable all active plugins and see if this resolves the issue. If it doesn’t, can you inspect the image using the Safari developer tools and take a screenshot, so we can see what he URL of the image is.
Ok, I think it may be that some of your image sizes are missing. Basically, when you upload an image WordPress generates a number of different sizes of that image.
Therefore, can you install the plugin I linked below and regenerate your thumbnails. Then see if this resolves your issue.
Hi Danny, searching further, I found that the permissions were set right, but not applied to the images that were already uploaded before starting with this theme. It only applied to the full size images, not to the WP generated images. After giving them the corrects rights, the problem disappeared.
I don’t really know why it appeared only on some devices and not others, it probably had to do something with the Retina display size.
Anyway thanks for your active help, I really appreciate this help being available.
