Click on a pagination link ends up in 404 (except if I change Permalink Setting)

Created a few pages with blog grids, they look great, but as soon as I Click on a pagination link, it goes to a 404 page. In my debugging I tried setting permalink to default and the links all work. So it must be a permalink thing. I even disabled the yoast seo plugin, but that didn’t solve the issue.

I need both, the BB Blog Grid, and the post permalink

(Sorry, site is in maintenance mode, so a link might be useless)

Since posts in the grid are custom posts, I think the source of the error might be my wonky code. I installed this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-permastructure/ and ouala, I have pagination
