Commentluv

Can I run Commentluv on the Beaver Builder theme. I had it installed on my Wordpress website before but now that I have switched to Beaver Builder it doesn’t show up at the bottom of my pages. I notice that there is a widget on Beaver Builder for Commentluv so it must work.
Can someone help me to fix the problem please?

Hey Victor,

Welcome to BB forums! I’ve just tested CommentLuv plugin on my local dev using BB theme and BB plugin and it’s working fine. I’ve attached some screenshots for your ref. Please check the “Allow Comments” on your page settings to show the comment section. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks!

Hello KC

I don’t have the “Allow Comments” check box on my page settings for some reason. I have noticed that Commentluv is visible on the page that I created first but not on any others, including what is now the HOME page which was created later.
I have gone over the Commentluv settings and have checked the relevant boxes to allow it to show on every page with no result. I then checked the Commentluv Knowledge Base and found following:

I have checked to enable comments “both” for posts and pages, but no comments box appears/displays for any of my PAGES. How do I enable pages to have comments available too?

commentluv only adds to the existing comment form so if you don’t have one then it wont make one for you

try temporarily changing to the default theme to see if it shows

if it does then it’s your theme settings controlling the display of the form, you should ask the theme author how to show it if you can’t set it in the settings for the theme

Kind regards

I am reluctant to change my theme to test it in this way because I am worried that all of work will be different when I change it back. Can you advise me on whether my work will revert back to how it was and whether I should try changing the theme temporarily?
Otherwise, is there something else I should try?

Regards
Vic Webb

Hey Victor,

Have you tried checking on the page “Screen Options” section and see if you have the “Discussion” checkbox checked? I’ve attached a screenshot for your reference. If it still doesn’t work, do you think you can share temp admin access to your site so we can take a better look? You can post the details here using the private reply option below.

Thanks!

Hello KC

Thank you, Commentluv is now visible. I went into “Screen Options” and it didn’t work by clicking the “Discussions” or the “Comments” tab but it did work by checking “Custom Fields”. It then gave me the “Allow Comments” option as per your first instructions.

Thank you for persisting with me.

Hey Victor,

Glad that worked for you, enjoy BB and let us know if you need anything further!

Thanks!

KC
