Confirmation email when using Mailrelay integration

Hi!

I’m using the new Mailrelay integration for my optin forms (thanks for adding this feature!), but I’m having a little issue. I hope you can help me.

When someone subscribes via opt in form, he/she is added to the list without receiving a confirmation email. Is it possible to change that?

I’d like to send them a confirmation email before adding them to the list. I think this way I’ll have a healthier list.

Hey Samu,

Is there an option to send a confirmation through Mailrelay? I have not used Mailrelay, but I know with other serivces (like MailChimp) you can opt to send a confirmation email from the list settings.

For the record, we probably won’t be adding an option to send an opt-in to our Subscribe form. We leave this functionality up to the 3rd party mail service.

Samu, I spoke too soon, sorry!

If there’s a way that we can do this via MailRelay’s API we’ll take a shot at it (no timeline for that, sorry). Would you mind adding this to our User Voice page?

In the meantime, it might be worth checking if there’s a way to setup the opt-in from MailRelay’s settings.

Hi Robby!

Mailrelay sends a confirmation email by default when you use a form created on their platform.

In fact, if I use an HTML module in Beaver Builder to add the form, the confirmation email is sent.

HTML will do the job in the meantime, but it would be great if this could be done via API so we could use the subscribe module and take advantage of the styling options. :slight_smile:

Hey Samu,

I had a look at MailRelay’s docs for adding new subscribers and unfortunately, it doesn’t look like they have anything there that would allow us to trigger the confirmation email.

I’ve sent in a support request to them to see if we can get more info on that. I’ll let you know what they say.

I heard back from MailRelay and they said that it’s not something that’s currently possible with the API…

For the moment it's not possible to send the confirmation email when working with the API, but some clients have asked this in the past, so I will tell the team to think about this option.

If anything changes on their end we’ll be sure to implement it. Sorry I don’t have a better answer at this point.
