Hello everybody,
is it possible to translate to Italian the words ( days, hours, minutes, seconds) that appears in the Countdown module?
Hey Fabio,
Welcome to the BB forums!
It looks like only the Singular form of the words are translated. I’ll go ahead and file an enhancement report for this. Thanks for the heads up!
Ben
If needed this is very simple
days = giorni
hours= ore
Minutes= minuti
seconds= secondi
Hey Fabio,
This should be addressed on the latest version of the plugin, 1.7.3.
Ben
Hi Ben,
I have the right version, but it doesn’t seem to be translated. My translation-file is correct.
Guido
Hi Guido,
Can you tell us how you performed your translation, please?
Thanks,
Danny
Hi Danny,
The standard localization from WordPress.
Guido
Hi Guido,
What language are you setting? As I have just set my local install to Italiano and the Countdown module is translated - https://cloudup.com/cwS914YJQPY
Thanks,
Danny
Oh, didn’t realize it was only for Italian. I’m set to Dutch.
day = dag
days = dagen
hour = uur
hours= uren
minute = minuut
minutes= minuten
second = seconde
seconds= seconden
Hi Guido,
There were changes in 1.7 so that being able to translate the plural form seperate from the singular form. Therefore, it is possible for you to perform the translation yourself and then share it with us so we can include it?
You can follow the instructions below.
Translating the plugin
- Make a copy of the original
xx_XX.pot
file. - You need to rename the coppied file now. The naming convention is based on the language code (e.g. “pt” for Portuguese) followed with underscore and the country code (e.g. “BR” for Brazil). So, the Brazilian Portuguese file would be named as
pt_BR.po
. - Use http://www.poedit.net/ to translate the file and export (save) it as
MO
translation file format. - Upload translated
pt_BR.mo
file into your WordPress language directory, such as/wp-content/languages/plugins/bb-plugin/pt_BR.mo
.
Thanks,
Danny
Hello Beaver Builder Team,
I’m sorry but I didn’t get my translation to work.
I followed the recommended steps but can’t find the terms “days, hours, minutes and seconds”.
They are not a part from the latest *.pot file…
Where are this therms located?
Thanks in advance
Bastian
Hi Bastian,
The terms are not in xx_XX.pot nor in any of the existing translation-files.
Danny, could you add my list above in the next update? I’d be happy to translate it for you in Dutch (nl_NL), French (fr_FR) and German (de_DE).
Thanks! Guido
Hi Guido,
thanks for your answer. I’m confused… If the terms are not part of the *.pot file, where are this terms located?
Hey guys,
I’ve already filed a report so the template pot file gets updated with the latest words to be translated.
In the meantime, you can use Poedit to update the words. There should be an Update button once you launch the software. This parses all files and retrieves all the words that can be translated.
Guido,
I’ve also filed a report to have those Dutch translations in place. IF you can send along the other translations, I’ll gladly include them.
Ben
Hi Ben,
Do you want them here?
Dutch (nl_NL)
day = dag
days = dagen
hour = uur
hours= uren
minute = minuut
minutes= minuten
second = seconde
seconds= seconden
German (de_DE) - mind the capitals, the German are picky about that
day = Tag
days = Tage
hour = Stunde
hours= Stunden
minute = Minute
minutes= Minuten
second = Sekunde
seconds= Sekunden
French (fr_FR)
day = jour
days = jours
hour = heure
hours= heures
minute = minute
minutes= minutes
second = seconde
seconds= secondes
Hey Guido,
Yep, here is fine. And thanks! I’ll go ahead and update the report to include these.
Ben
