Is there a way to customize the code being used for parallax in rows? I know it’s possible to create custom modules (been loving that feature), but it’s not obvious if there’s an “official” method for modifying rows. I would like to optimize the parallax animation.

I am afraid there’s not. You could probably implement your own Parallax effect as opposed to using ours. And or, if there was a hook or a filter we could add for you, feel free to peek at our code and let us know. Lastly, you could add this as a feature request (or vote it up) on our user voice page:
