Escaping html entities

Trying to build a table of contents using a plugin. I’ve tried several. They all fail. Have now identified the bug but not the solution.

Instead of the < and > I get the & symbols.

Note that if I code the h2 with < and > into an html block, it works fine. Where it screws up is in the heading module (note that I have also tried the UABB heading module and it does not work either). So I am stumped. Has anyone else faced and resolved this?

Thanks.

I had to re-edit that first post a few times to get it to not use the & symbols. I’m sure any reader gets the problem.

What HTML are you trying to add to your heading? Seems to work fine as far as I can see.
