full-width page nightmare.

BB Theme

I cannot find a way to achieve full-width pages. In frustration, I used the theme called Auberge from Webman Design and imported a BB theme ‘Associates’ managing get 1018 px wide. The full width should be about 1312 px. This obviously is not the answer as begin stuck with their header and footer (Auberge) I can’t get rid of. Whatever theme I import from BB does not work. Please can you help as I cannot continue without having a clean 100% BB full-width theme. I’m not code savvy. I’m not using Genesis, so I cannot use dam buster.

Hey Alan,

Welcome to the BB forums! :slight_smile:

The full-width functionality of the plugin totally depends on the theme. If the theme allows us to use edge to edge of the content area, then it shouldn’t be a problem. However, some themes only offer boxed content - this may be your case. Do you mind sharing the URL of the site in question so we may take a look?

Hey Alan,

Do you not have a setting on your theme to make it full width or to adjust the width of the content? If there isn’t, you can try using the CSS snippet below and see if it works for you!

body.fl-builder {
  padding-left: 0;
  padding-right: 0;
}
.fl-builder > .site {
  max-width: 100%;
}

Hi Ben
Yesterday my hosting company set up my Wordpress site (which is not online yet) sent me the URL he used the Wordpress theme thirteen for me to change for a BB theme. I tried changing various themes to BB, but most were way too narrow. When I looked for the Full-width option in Wordpress to create a new page it was not there. So, in the end I tried the Auberge theme from Webman Design just to see a full-width page worked. It was wider (as my URL shows but obviously not useable).
I will try the CSS you sent me but I need to know exactly where it goes.

Sorry, I’m a bit confused. Are you saying that you have the BB theme, but you opted for another theme which does full width?

The only way (with my limited knowledge) to see if I could get a full-width BB theme working I loaded various themes ending up with the Auberge theme from Webman Design. Then I installed your BB ‘Associate’ theme to see if I could get a wider (nearly) full-width page. It was wider (as my URL shows but obviously not useable). So I’m want to use BB Associate NOT on top of theme Auberge theme.

Hey Alan,

The Associate is not a theme, but just a template layout. It is simply content for your pages, it does not control whether or not the page goes edge to edge. :slight_smile:

The problem with your homepage is that it is not using BB to create the page. The code I gave you above only works for when you use our product. Try creating a new page titled Homepage, then go to Settings > Reading, and set your Front page displays to A static page then set it to the page you just created. :slight_smile:
