FYI: Problem with abusing negative margins

I helped a client figure this out last night and I thought I’d share.

Instead of zeroing margins to get blocks closer together, one of my clients started using negative margins on the bottom blocks, to creep them up.

It ended up causing issues because the Column block control buttons then overlapped the Row block control buttons. It became impossible to access the row control. We had to delete the modules and columns and start over once all margins were straightened out.

Yes, we’ve experienced the same thing, but thanks for letting us know. We definitely suggest doing as much as you can with zeroing out padding/margins before getting into negative spacing. Of course, there are situations where it works great, but among a lot of columns/rows, things get a bit tricky with overlap.
