Genesis child theme front-page.php is not working when using BeaverBuilder

I’m working on a site that I did not build. My customer only wants the front/home page edited to be super simple.

The site already has Beaver Builder installed and I have created a page layout with the edits requested. Here is the page: https://jsestag.wpengine.com/home-page/

The site is using a Genesis theme and custom child theme based on Parallax that has been edited a lot. Yes, it is using ACF and I don’t know much about it other than the home page does not need to use ACF. But one thing I can tell is that the front-page.php template has probably been edited quite a bit.

When I make the above page the home page in the Settings>Reading the entire entry content area of the page goes away. Only the header and footer remain with some strange things in between.

I tried restoring the original front-page.php to the child theme but that did not work. So I’m removing it. To be clear the home page should look like the link I posted above. But when I use the beaver builder page as the home page looks like this. Screenshot: https://share.getcloudapp.com/NQuegNL7

I hope this is something simple and that someone can help.
Thanks,

Here is a link to a downloadable version of the current front-page.php https://jsestag.wpengine.com/front-page.php.zip

Hi,

If your Genesis child theme includes a front-end.php file, you should be able to remove it without it causing any issue. Once removed, you will be able to use Beaver Builder on your home page. However, I would recommend contacting the child theme developer to confirm removing the file won’t cause any errors.

This issue has been resolved.

Thanks Danny!
