Google’s structured data testing tool and rich snippets for articles

I was reading that Google requires rich snippets for articles: https://developers.google.com/structured-data/rich-snippets/articles

I tested my blog articles with structured data testing tool and I’m getting 15 errors https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/

Do you plan to adapt your theme to the new google requirements?

More about you can find on studiopress blog:
http://www.studiopress.com/releases/genesis-2-2-6.htm

This sounds worrying: “We even received reports from our users that Google is flagging their content as spam, because they’re detecting a “blogPosting” without associated Image and Publisher objects.”

Best regards,
Damian

Hey Damian,

Thanks for the valuable information. If you have a minute, do you think you can add that as a feature request on our User Voice Forums!

Thanks!

KC

Hey KC,

I’m wondering if this should be added as a feature request, where are additional features suggested by the users or it should be marked as an important/critical update for the theme to avoid the issue where Google is flagging blog content as spam. ??

Best regards,
Damian

Hey Damian,

I checked the tool against our blog and it does look like we’re missing a few things. I’ll go ahead and mark that for the next theme update.

Justin

Thanks.
