Hero Video Embed - Youtube / Vimeo, etc

I’ve been searching the forums and found some various threads touching on this subject. I was hoping to avoid doing the revolution slider thing. Is there a way to embed a video into the hero and get audio/video like revolution slider does? I like the new video option but there is no option for audio. Would be nice to be able to place YouTube or Vimeo video in backround instead of having to upload a video. Is there any outlook for this option in the future? Is there a work around for it now? Thanks!

Hi Josh,

I apologise, but I am not quite sure what you’r referring to when you say “Hero and get audio/video like the Revolution Slider”.

In the Video module, you can choose to upload a video or embed a video like YouTube/Vimeo. Is there no audio on your videos?

Thanks,
Danny

Hey there,

The large header image at the top of the page in some circles is called the “Hero Scene” is what I was referring to as Hero. Sorry, my bad. Was in a rush.

Changing the default giant parallax image to video, I have uploaded an mp4 version of the video and it plays fine. There is no audio. I assume because there is no option or control for mute/un-mute that no audio was the standard.

There is no audio in safari, firefox, or chrome on my Mac.

I’m using BB scroller template. I can use the video module and that works great. I just can’t find a way to replace the main big “hero” (default parallax street scene) image by changing it to “video” mode instead of using the Video module. I can’t get the Video module to go full width. Trying to make the Video Module look and act like the big header “hero” image doesn’t work. I also can’t find a way to hide the video controls.

Hope that makes more sense.

Thanks!

Hi Josh,

Can you provide a link to your site with temp admin access, so I can take a closer look, please?

Thanks,
Danny

[Content Hidden]

Hi Josh,

I believe the background video option is muted by default. However, you can right-click to bring up controls.

The best method is to use the the Video module. To make it full-width, do the following:

  1. Add the Video module to your page. Then go to the Row settings that houses the video module.

  2. Set the width to full-width on both the Width and Content Width.

  3. In the Advanced tab, set the margin/padding to 0 on all four directions.

  4. Then add your video to the video module.

  5. Now go to the Advanced on the Video module, and set the margin/padding to 0 on all four directions.

The video audio will not be muted on the video module.

Thanks,
Danny

That worked beautifully. Thanks my friend. This has been a fantastic builder. Glad I took the dive!

No problem, Josh. Happy to help and thanks for informing us the issue has been resolved.

Thanks,
Danny
