Re. Upgrading to the Agency, we don’t have any discounts or promos available at this time. Upon upgrading, the cost will be the difference and is also prorated based on the number of days you’ve had the previous version just as a heads-up.
More problems still the same older problem still not fixed.
I was able to get my row templates back by importing them back in a second time from my dev site off line.
Now the bigger problem is you can add anything to the top of a blog post output page you can only add with in the text area on that page so i can not add the top menu to the top of the page.
So no one that uses the new menu system with the BB theme and plug in can use it to make a complete website that works right.
This is a major problem that needs to be fixed .
Here is a link to the only place i can put the menu and top area… not in the right place this breaks the website making it no longer work like a wordpress site.
How can anyone expect their customer to deal with this on every blog post page. http://citylockusa.com/boulder-transponder-keys-we-have-them/
The new menu system needs to be connected to the top of the website like any wordpress menu works.
Is this something that can be fixed…? I would hate to have to tell my customer i have to go to a different not as nice menu now to get the site to work right.
When i add that menu and top area to that blog post output page it then adds the items not formatted to the blog list page now, see the first post here.
The first problem is what we have been dealing with before all this. The Menu module is designed not to replace the theme menu, but to add additional menus in the content area. It will not automatically appear on top of every page/post, you have to make it so by assigning one to the page/post itself.
If you’re dealing with a Post, you’ll have to add it every time a new post gets created. The posts use a different layout from pages. If you want the posts layout to be the same as pages, you’ll have to modify your single.php file. The instructions below is what you’ll need to do.
Copy the file tpl-no-header-footer.php from your Parent Theme.
Paste it to your Child Theme.
Rename it to single.php.
Regarding the excerpt, you can manually add one and I would suggest doing so if you’re adding the Menu module on every post. On the Edit Post page, click on the Screen Options on the top right corner then check the box for Excerpt. There should be a custom field for the Manual Excerpt, anything in that box will used as the text excerpt instead.
Still trying to come up with a way this new menu can work for the site and my customer using it when making a blog post.
Another problem i see is not only would he have to add the menu to every blog post he makes going back in to the post to add it but them what about all the other pages WP creates the menu will not be on like all the category pages.
BB builder dose not show up on any of the category pages to be able to add in the top menu so when any one clicks on a category they go to a page with no menu or header.
I do not see how you guys do not see this as being a huge problem i would think the way you listed the new menu system that many users are going to want to use it for a new better top menu and this just dose not work right.
Can you please work on it more so it can replace the other top menu maybe a way to click it on and off to replace the older menu up top so it works right for all word press pages. Or add the same features to the older top menu so it can be used. Its so close but just not all the way right.
Unfortunately, I don’t really think the menu module and/or replacing your theme menu is really the solution in this particular case as Ben mentions above. The menu module was/is really meant for content. Meaning, if you have a content heavy site, you can break it up a bit on a single page rather than having a ton of drop downs in the main menu. Of course, there are several other use cases, but that’s the most recent I can think of.
In addition, BB does not yet have the ability to touch the native WP pages like the posts page, archive or category pages. That is something we are looking into as no other page builder offers that, but it is tricky and will take some time in dev. I don’t have a timeline for that, but we all want it!
Hi Ben,
I was looking for the “No Header/Footer Page template” in my parent theme directory but could not find it. As I use another theme (TESSSERACT), the name for the template is probably different. How can I find this “No Header/Footer Page template” in the TESSERACT theme?
