Hey guys,
Does the builder provide an easy way to customize the layout of a single post? I notice you can use a template on each post but in terms of how to create a layout for this I’m not seeing where to start.
Thanks!

Hi there Josh and the team at Beaver Builder.
I have the same question. I am building a site using Ultimatum Theme and your brilliant builder and all the pages have a different layout which Builder is doing so well, But I am trying to do a blog layout but I just can’t see how to do it. Is there a way to do a layout without using the beaver theme, just Modules?
Thanks guys for any help or advice.
Kind regards
John
Hey Josh and John,
I believe what you guys are attempting to do is to apply a fixed layout for the blog posts using saved BB templates/modules. Since you guys are not using our BB theme, you’ll have to identify the post template file in the theme files and it should be similar to “content-single.php”. Then, follow the thread below for further instructions on how it is done. Let me know if I am misunderstanding your question.

Hi there KC,
Thank you for your help so far, but I think I am now swimming in treacle. HELP! ok I understand that we have to use a shortcode, where does the shortcode go? In a layout or in a php theme file?
What I have done so far is make up the head and footer and saved them in “Saved Modules” section of the Beaver Builder as global sections.
Now what do I do? Could you be really helpful and just give me an idiots guide.
Thank you.
Cheers
John
Hey John,
Just wanted to chime in here. I just want to elaborate what KC tried to tell you. You’ll need to edit the theme files to change the template of Posts. The builder only replaces the WP native editor, you can’t use the builder to change the layout of Posts. You’ll need either a theme builder for that, or PHP/WP knowledge so you can hard code it, same with what I said above.
The guys are trying to make BB do that though, I just don’t have any concrete details/timeline at the moment.
Hope this helps!
Ben
Hi there Ben and KC
Thank you for your message but it would still be good the have an idiots guide to do this. I gather that I need to move the "Single post PHP file (A copy of it) and place it in the child themes folder, but them what? This is where I get stuck. Guidance would be really helpful here.
Thank you guys.
Cheers
John
Hey John,
Sorry, I don’t think we have a guide on how to do this. Anyway, I’ll try to guide you through, to get started, could you please share your Website URL with us so we could have a better look at it? Also, do you mind sharing a screenshot on what you are trying to achieve? You can upload it to imgur and paste the link here.
Thanks!

Hey John,
Just took a look at your Website backend and it seems the post template is not located in your parent theme. I’m not sure how this theme works as I havent really use this theme before. I would love to help, but I think it would be best if you get in touch with the theme authors regarding this. By the way, I notice that you’ve installed our BB theme, do you mind telling us why you’re not using it?
Thanks!
KC
Hi there KC,
Thank you for having a look at the site backend. I don’t have a problem using your theme but I cnat get the header and footer to look how I want them. Is there a way of adding the layout which I have already done in Beaver Builder into the theme?
If this can be done then I would be a happy chap!
Do you have any thoughts, advice please.
Kind regards
John
Hi there KC
I have been thinking and read loads on the net. Is there a way of pulling in the designed Modules into a template?
Kind regards
John
Hi there KC
I have some great news… Sorted within Ultimatum Theme using the following shortcode and the beta 1.7 Beaver Builder [fl_builder_insert_layout slug=“my-post-slug”] and it works a dream.
I am a happy bunny.
Kind regards
John
Hey John,
Glad that worked for you, enjoy BB and let us know if you need anything further!
Thanks!
