I just built my first BB site for a client. I am using the BB theme and plugin. I used the Scroller template to design the homepage of the site. My client loved the site, but she couldn’t see the two lower full width images. She only sees grey boxes where the images should be. As I suspected, she is using IE. I am not sure what version she is on. I can find that out tomorrow. I’m running the latest version of WP. I understand that it’s increasingly difficult to develop sites that render well in all browsers, especially IE, but this is sort of a big issue. Without those large full screen images, the site layout doesn’t really make sense. I am trying to figure out what to do. Can you tell me what know issues there are with BB displaying in IE?
I have already issued a bug report for this and we’ll report back as soon as we can. In the meantime, to speed up the process, would it be possible for you to provide us temporary admin access to the site in question?
I tried checking your site from my end using IE8 and all I can see are black backgrounds, no parallax effect. I tried using the same template on my end and it seems to work fine on IE8 which led me to believe there might be a plugin conflict. Also, what’s the version of your BB theme and plugin? I will just put the bug report on hold for now. If you could also grant us temporary admin access to the site so we may check further it would be greatly appreciated.
The problem is caused by the background overlay that is placed on the background image. I am going to report this to the team and post back on how we are going to work around this issue. But still, if you could report what IE your client is using we’d still appreciate it. The more data we have, the faster we can find a solution for it!
So for now, I will submit a bug report for this but it may take a bit more time to test and fix. I’d recommend updating the browser version of your client and see if that fixes it.
Did you manage to get your client’s IE version? I got word from our lead dev that the color overlay does not work on IE8 and below since they don’t support the RGBA value.
