Good Morning.
I have used the Subscribe Module linked to my Mailchimp Account and appropriate list. In the Subscribe module the only options for Form Fields is to include or exclude the Name Field. In my mailchimp setup I have the option of FName and LName. I am not sure if this makes a difference, either way when I test the Form my Mailchimp list doesn’t update.
Thanks for getting in touch! If you’re using our Subscribe Module then there is no need for the forms you have on MailChimp. I tried this from my end and it works just fine. It took about 10 minutes before it added my email to the list though. Can you double check your list if indeed the email you tried adding still isn’t there?
Thank you for you reply. Yes indeed there is a delay and also, there is the double opt-in that I hadn’t considered.
The other issue is the Form Field option of Name. In mailchimp my list includes FName and LName and so from the Subscribe Module the only option is Name. I am therefore not getting Names to my Mailchimp list, just emails.
Also, there is not option to select how the field is labelled. It would be good to be able to choose to label inside the field (as it is currently by default), and above or in front of the field. Apparently in Field labeling is no longer best practice according to Unbounce, Hubspot and similar Inbound Marketers.
I was hoping that you might have a solution to how I can get the name field to work in mailchimp? Seems senseless to have it as an option and it does nothing?
The name field on our Subscribe module does work. What happens is, the first and second name will be placed under First Name and Last Name on the Mailchimp list respectively, e.g., placing Ben Carlo on the name field on our subscribe module would translate to Ben as the First Name and Carlo as the Last Name on the Mailchimp list. The subscriber can also manage their profile after subscribing by hitting Manage your Preferences and they can change their first and last name.
If that doesn’t work for you I guess the only option is to use Mailchimp’s form.
