So i’m finally getting started to add content to my website. I would like to start with a “newsimage” like on mises.org where there is a picture with a container/column of a sort that is somewhat transparent. But for the life of my i have used 5 hours looking for widgets etc., to do this and have again found myself in need for help!
I hope you can help me do something like that news-image with a textbox over that has a title and description!
Hi Lasse,
Take a look at the Content Slider - you can use one Slide and turn off the slider controls. And select Text as the content layout.
I’m a big fan of slider revolution, which does this sort of thing really well. it costs a little, but packs a punch - check out the demo… http://themes.themepunch.com/?theme=revolution_wp
Thanks again for the great suggestions, Dave! Try Dave’s suggestions above, Lasse, they work well. Regarding the Content Slider, you can just use the Text layout and put a background image on the slide. If you really want it to appear exactly as that site, you’ll have to add in some Custom CSS.
Yes, you can put a column background then place a text module on top of it. But I would rather use the Content Slider module as that way, you can edit the image as well as the text in one instance only, if that makes sense. But using the column background and text module combo, you get more flexibility. Anyway, you’ve a lot of options now.
