Margins in Text blocks not working correctly in latest update

Hi,

When I make adjustments to the the margins in text boxes (from the default 20px) - although I can see the changes I make, when I save page, it reverts back to a large space between each module (I’m guessing it’s the 20px).

Blocks created before the update maintain the correct margin size (as long as they are not adjusted)

It seems to have corrected itself.

Hey Dennis,

That sounds like a caching issue. I did a little testing and can’t seem to recreate it on my end. Can you please try clearing your cache and caching plugin if you have one installed?

Best,
Billy

There does seem to be a difference. When you re-click Page Builder to edit page, it doesn’t actually show WYSIWYG - the gap is 20px even if it’s set to 0px margin. It seems that when you save now it shows correctly. So each view is not consistent.

Hmmm, ok. If you’ve already tried the caching routine, are there any console errors you can send?

Best,
Billy

This means you have to guess, save and publish etc…to see if it’s right and repeat until it is how you want.

I have been clearing cache etc… after the changes now.

Should I always clear cache and purge varnish after every change in the builder?

Hey Dennis,

I’m not seeing any errors and am also not experiencing any issues on my end in your site, weird! I’m not sure where we go from here, are there specific steps on that page I could take to try to recreate this? Include the specific text boxes if possible.

Billy

I think this issue could be with Firefox. It seems that Firefox shows different space between edit and when it’s published. Then when you’re logged into site it doesnt always show it correctly. In a private browser with cleared cache etc… it does.

In Chrome it seems to show correctly in Page Builder and when published. However, If you do something like make the margin -50px or something - it overlaps (as it should) on the module above in Page Builder but when published it jump back down. If you view the pagfe in an incognito window it show correctly (without clearing cache) (but not if you’re logged into site)

I’ve made the margin -80 0n the first full width paragraph. Have a go and tell me what results you get.

thanks

Hey Dennis,

Just getting back into this. It appears to work for me as it should in Chrome which is mainly what I use. I was able to see what I think you are talking about in Firefox though - interesting. The site isn’t throwing errors while recreating the issue and simple refresh takes care of the formatting which leads me to believe this is still caching related. Regardless, we’ll take a deeper look to see if there is anything we can do.

Best,
Billy

Thanks for checking this out further Billy.

Cheers
Dennis

Hey Dennis,

Just in case we need it, would you mind sending FTP access as well?

Best,
Billy

Thanks Dennis, we’ll look into this as soon as we can and get back to you. If you could leave the credentials active until then, that would be great.

Active for as long as you like!

see below:

Images hsowing different views of content:

This is what I see on page: (logged in view)

Which is different to non-logged in (incognito window)

This is after clearing cache and Purging Vanish numerous times

You can see the difference on the RHS

This is in Chrome

Further Update: Still not seeing correct changes in Page after publishing from Builder. Yet when I view in an incognito window it shows the changes.

I have cleared cache and varnish 3-4 times each but no change when looking when logged in.
Also cache is NOT enabled for logged in users.

Below are 2 image slices. You can see one has no styling but the other does.

logged in user:

incognito window:

Same page as before.

At the moment the only solution is to clear browser data (but this shouldn’t really be the case each time I make changes??) - which seems to show updated changes as logged in user.

Clearing browser data in Firefox and chrome worked.
