Menu plugins, anyone using or recommending one?

I have been learning and using beaver Builder during the past week. I was a graphic designer using Dreamweaver until about 2008. Had a lot of catch-up to do to rebuild my old photographic websites and did not want to go into codes and found BB and added CCS Hero to further customize my website.
As nice as BB is, its menu system looks a little basic and I wanted to know if anyone is using any menu plugin plugin that is already working with BB. For my use I wanted a transparent one at the bottom of my header Image. I did one here using BB and CSS Hero. http://www.weddinginmauritius.info/test-site2/test-microthemer-page-6 . I have use button on this but for now I don’t know how to make an animation when you hover over the button and about responsiveness for tablet and mobile screen.

For now I have searched on code canyon and found Hero menu
http://codecanyon.net/item/hero-menu-responsive-wordpress-mega-menu-plugin/10324895
And Super Menu
http://codecanyon.net/item/supermenu-wordpress-mega-menu-plugin/full_screen_preview/9877805

Supermenu seems to have more functionality but it seems to bug a little on my browser and documentation seems lacking a bit compared to Hero menu.

Now I don’t know if they are compatible with BB. I will send a message to both of them to see if it works. I think that they have every reason to do so as to capture some of the growing number of BB users. If anyone knows other menu plugin that works on BB, it would be very nice to know for people that might need it.

Hi Jean,

Thanks for posting! Your site is coming along nicely.

I’m not aware of any menu plugins that do or don’t work with BB, but if you run into any issues, I’d be happy to have a look. Just let me know.

Thanks,
Justin

Hi Justin, thank you for the comment about my site, I need to work on some finishing touches, taking more time learning BB LOL. I sent a message on those two in their comment section for both Hero and Supermenu plugins. They both told me that they are looking into it.

As for me I think that perhaps you should open a specific section in the forums about other plugin/extension. It would be a place where users could post about working plugin or not working one’s with BB plugin and themes. It would help everyone I think and would encourage other developers to participate to add their gallery, menu, sliders and other functionalities to help grow the Beaver Builder as a platform.

I can’t expect BB to have every functionality out of the box and expect to use other plugin to complement it. I see BB as a fantastic platform to invest my time and learning developing into. It won’t be just a Theme that you buy and that will be dumped in 3/5 years as new needs or design style has evolved.

Hey Jean,

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll bring it up with the team at our next meeting.

Justin

I am myself missing a way to make nice menues with different ways to hight the chosen menu-item, as well as move menu around whenever necessary (left, center, right).

Can you advice on a good responsive menu plugin working well with BB and not alsowing Page load?

Best. Manu

Hey Emmanuel,

I would suggest directing this question over to our FB Group and/or Slack Channel.

Ben

Okay. Thanks.

I use Max Mega Menu for more complex menus. There’s a free version on wordpress.org which is good or you can buy a lifetime developers license with more features for $90 which i’ve done and i’m very, very happy with.

Thanks. I uploaded Mega MAx menu and throught the setup was very confusing. But I guess I didn’t really give it a chance.

Thanks for the recommendation Ben…
What theme are you using the Max Mega menu with (BB theme?)
I am using the BB theme more and more, so it would be good to know that it works well with it?
Regards, Dave

ps, I can’t see any mention of a developers license for $90 on the site? Only one option that is $30!

Sorry it’s $99 http://www.maxmegamenu.com/upgrade/

I use it on Dynamik or Genesis sites but it’ll work fine with BB.

Sorry make that Paul not Ben
Dave

Thanks Paul - but that link still only shows $39 when I click the Checkout button !
Most odd!

ps - Maybe it changes when you are logged in to your account ?

No I don’t think so. When I bought it I had to create an account.
This is what i’m seeing: http://postimg.org/image/4mdtgv81r/

I’d drop him a line if you’re wanting to buy it, he’s pretty quick to respond.

Hey Emmanuel,

No worries! Reason for that suggestion is the guys over at the FB Group and Slack Channel are more active there than here. And this is more of a question for the community. Sorry, it just felt wrong to refer you away from the forums without a good reason.

Paul,

Thanks for the suggestion!

Dave,

It would be great if you could share your experience with the menu plugin, if ever you can play around with it.

Ben

Thanks Ben, Looking at Paul’s image it is $39 for up to 5 sites, so that sounds like a pretty good price…
Cheers, Dave

I found the problem…
On my Chrome, the 3 option boxes (single, 5 user, Developer) do not display - but I tried in Firefox and they appear!
(Chrome is version 46 on Windows)

Cheers, Dave
