I would like to reiterate two additions to the plug-in that would be complete game-changers for me.
1. Include a Never choice in the Display dropdown.
I routinely create content that is relevant for certain months of the year but not others. It would make my life so much easier to be able to hide a module, when its content is not needed, instead of having to remove it and then recreate it later. I appreciate that the plug-in’s new templating capabilities could address this, but not nearly as elegantly as a simple Never choice in Display. I would think that this would be very easy to implement, too.
2. Support for the More tag.
Nothing makes content more mobile friendly than the ability to be able to show just a piece of the text and have the rest available with one touch. And nothing makes that easier to do than the simple HTML tag of More. Sadly, BB’s modules do not support the More tag. I sure wish that they would.
Could you not save the row/module and then remove it from your page? Then when you need it again, it is there in your Saved Rows/Modules ready to be used again.
You could add create two versions of your module, set the visibility for each and set the mobile version to only show a snippet of the text. Then add a read more link.
Have you added these suggestions to our UserVoice?
Yes, I can implement both of those strategies, and have when required to. But it would be so much cleaner, so much more efficient, and such a better workflow to be able to keep inactive modules in place until which time as I want to activate them. And having to create two versions of a module is anathema to so many of my principles of web design. (Having to maintain two copies of content is probably tops on my list of things to avoid.)
So here’s hoping that you will consider these requests, based on the tremendous boost to work efficiency that they would cause and based on what I suspect to be relative ease of implementation.
