I’m testing Beaver Builder probably for the first time. Newbie question …
If I wanted to create a separate landing page that doesn’t have my theme’s header, menu, or footer how do I do this? At the moment when I load up page templates or layout templates it is inserting the template content into the page’s content area only and I can still see my theme’s header and footer.
You would have to remove some code from your theme’s header and footer files. As to what code, that would entirely depend on the theme you’re using. Your best bet is to contact the theme devs as they know their themes best.
The BB theme that comes from our Pro version, offers a No Header/Footer page template. This removes the header and footer completely on that page, making you design the entire page by using just the BB Page Builder. You might want to give it a shot!
I’ve been used to using Thrive’s Landing Pages which seems to just take over the page and removes all theme headers and footers.
In case the BB theme is an options, do you have a live example where I can see it? Similar to demo site our current theme comes with: http://miami.themepunch.com/home/ … so I can see if it has the features and styles we need?
Unfortunately, our theme demo doesn’t include the page templates. It’s basically a page template where the header and footer are taken out so you can style the page however you want using the page builder.
OK thanks for your help. In that case … sadly … please can we go for a refund. What do I need to do at this end & how to uninstall the plugin correctly? (I noticed an uninstall button rather than deactivate)
Our theme demo can be reached via http://demo.wpbeaverbuilder.com/ (theme customizer). Ben is correct in that this really isn’t a BB related function, rather, one that is at the theme level. Our theme does have an individual page template that is headerless/footerless, but the above demo pretty much showcases the site wide theme settings, one of which is to remove the header/footer site wide. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the link. Have had a quick look and we really need to stick with our Miami Themepunch theme as we would lose too much functionality.
In case it helps, the feature we are after is provided by Thrive Landing Pages, which is a sort of addon to their main editor. But I do prefer BB interface.
That’s fine in terms of sticking with your main theme, but this isn’t really an issue with BB. In fact, it’s entirely dependent on your theme hence Ben mentioning checking in with the theme devs. BB is working as it should as far as I can tell. Have you tried checking in with them on how to do it?
Sadly this is not the case. So at the moment for us the only option is to refund as it’s not doing what is says on the can. Is that going to be a problem?
Yes, those page layouts are exactly what you can create, but in the content area. They are all clickable demos that show them in action within our theme. Regardless, feel free to email us directly on the refund and we’ll go from there. We can be reached via themes[at]fastlinemedia[dot]com.
