We have a whiteboard here at our office that lists our current projects. The idea is to replace the whiteboard with a smart TV that instead has a webpage of all of our current projects in a nice neat table. wpDataTables does this beautifully, but now they want to be able to cycle through content like display signage that would also include the table with our projects.
So for example 3 pages that cycle full-screen like a slideshow:
First slide is the job list page in table format
Second slide is a page with our logo
Third slide is another page with an advertisement.
I’ve noticed that the post slider has a content tab that allows to change the content type from posts to pages, but this doesn’t seem to be working when I specify only the three pages needed for the three slides.
I have just created three pages called Page Slider 1, Page Slider 2 and Page Slider 3. I then added each of these pages using the filter pages options.
When I saved the changes only these pages were shown in the Slider. If this isn’t working for you can you provide temp admin access, please? So we can take a closer look.
Try flushing the cache on the cache plugin and then disable it. This should resolve your issue. We recommend disabling cache plugins whilst working on your site.
Disabled and flushed cache plugin as you suggested, but no luck.
When I enter the page names in the filter setting of the content tab it doesn’t seem to save them. I’ve entered both just the page names and full URLs with no success.
Any other suggestions? You still have access, so feel free to make a quick mockup as an example if you like. I might just be overlooking something really obvious.
I apologise, I wasn’t aware that you wanted to display the full content of the page. The Post Slider module doesn’t allow you to display your full page or post content, it will display it in the style of the slider.
If you wish to have a slider displaying full pages, you will need to create a custom module, as this isn’t possible with the post slider.
For information on how to create a custom module, see the link I have provided below.
