I have placed a posts module on a page with a grid display. I have selected the post type (it’s a custom post type I created with the Types plugin), and random as the order. The posts are not displaying in random order and there is still the option to select ascending or descending, which seems strange if the order is meant to be random.

Ah. I think I may have misunderstood. The random option relate to the criteria the posts are ordered by, correct? So that sometime they will be ordered by id and sometimes by author and sometimes by date?
Which means if all my posts were uploaded at the same time by the same author they will not change that much?
Although having said that I have not seen a change in any order at all on refreshing that page.
Could you not have a third order option - ascending, descending and random?

Hey Chris,
I see what you mean. Good feedback and something we’ll take into consideration for further development on that module. For now, the workaround would be to manually change post upload date/time.
