I have just updated to Version 2.2.3.3. When i go into responsive editing i am stuck in full screen and cannot see the changes i’m trying to make.

I’ve experienced this today as well. It was only happening to me in the Small Device responsive edit view.
If you do indeed have the exact same issue as the OP, he opened a ticket with the same question then later replied saying w3 cache was to blame.
If not open a ticket.

Do you know which one of the gazillion options is causing the issue?
No idea sorry, i just deactivated it to see if it was the cause, then Activated it again (Live site), i’ll try to have a closer look over the weekend
