Shortcode Not Rendering

I’ve used the layout shortcode several times with no issue but for whatever reason it isn’t rendering anything on one of my projects. If you shoot me back a message, I’ll send you WP login info in a private reply. Thanks!

Hi Tyler,

The username doesn’t appear to be correct, can you double check it for me. So I can take a closer look.

Also, can you provide a link to the layout shortcode plugin, please?

Thanks,
Danny

Hey Tyler,

Sorry to say but it’s still saying incorrect username/password.

Hey Tyler,

Finally got in. I just went to the From The Blog page, saw the shortcode, published the page using BB, and it’s working fine. Can you check and see if it is on your end?

Ben

Ben,

Good to hear you were able to access the site. The post grid is showing up on the section post page (http://staging.equable-debt.flywheelsites.com/section/blog/). However, when that section is pulled into the homepage, the grid disappears. I added the text “Blog grid should appear right below here” to show you where it should be appearing on the homepage.

Thanks for taking a look!

Hey Tyler,

How are you adding the shortcode? Are you doing an echo do_shortcode in the front-page.php template directly? I think the problem is with the template you’re using. I tried doing an echo ‘Test’ and the same thing is happening, it was displayed on the page three times. Is this what you’re experiencing?

Ben

Ben,

The shortcode is installed on this section: http://staging.equable-debt.flywheelsites.com/section/blog/

However, the shortcode doesn’t show up on the frontend unless I use the Page Builder on the post. I did try that option as well but doesn’t show up on the front page.

All of these sections are looped into the home page: http://staging.equable-debt.flywheelsites.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=section

The “From the blog” section has the post grid.

Hey Tyler,

Thanks for the clarification! I tried calling the shortcode using the Page ID instead of the slug and it works fine. Chances are, you have a different page/post which is using the same slug.

Ben

Ben,

Awesome! Thanks for the help.

On a side note, have you guys noticed that the pagination at the bottom of Post modules are not working? When you click on page 2,3, etc the links are not pointing in the right spot. I noticed this same issue on another site I’m using BeaverBuilder on. Thoughts?

Hey Tyler,

That’s actually an issue with WP core. The problem happens when there is a pagination on the homepage. Take a look at the link below for more info.
https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/35344

I actually thought they already fixed this on the latest version though, can you reinstall WP and see if that fixes it?

Ben

Ben,

Thanks for the follow-up. I do have one site where the pagination problem is on another problem. Check it out: http://explorealex.com/blog/

If you’d like a closer look, I can create you a user account for you.
