Site is Shifting on iPad

I’m not sure why, but the site shifts left to right on the iPad.

Is there some code needed for iPad so the site doesn’t shift left to right in the browser?

http://shopper.behladev.com/ is the site in development.

Hey Andrew,

I’m having trouble replicating this on my end. Would you mind sending screenshots? Also, what type of iPad? You can use Imgur for the screenshots and we’ll take a look as soon as we can.

Best,
Billy

Hey Andrew! Hope you’re doing well.

I noticed your reply via email and I wanted to chime in here. For the record, we try to keep all communication in the forum so it’s publicly searchable.

The site looks great! I tried to test using Chrome’s iPad simulator, but I wasn’t able to recreate the problem that way. I have been meaning to buy a new iPad here for ages, maybe this will be the kick in the pants I need, haha.

Is the issue only happening on the splash page you linked?

Also, is that the BB theme or a different one? Can you tell if the issue is only happening on pages built with BB?

We’ve never had this issue before, so I would guess it has something to do with either the theme’s CSS or some custom CSS. If we can try to track down where that problem CSS is coming from, that would be helpful.

If you disable BB, does the issue still happen? And or, if you switch themes?

Thanks!

Hmm. I see what you mean there.

If you drag the site to the left or right, does it snap back to the proper alignment? Or, does that gray bar stay put?

If it snaps back, it seems like that would be the default behavior.

Does the issue happen with either the BB theme or page builder disabled? That is, can you tell if one of those is the cause?

Thanks Robby. Yes, the site does center itself and snap back.

I tested two other BB sites, liquidglow.net and cityhearts.org and they don’t have this issue. We are only using the BB parent theme on this site, with a child theme.

Good to know. On second glance, can you tell me more about that slider on the top? That’s not a BB element, is it?

Sorry again about not having an ipad handy, I have to send you on a bunch of wild goose chases.

Can you test whether that slider might be causing the problem? And or, is this happening on any other pages than the home page?

We are using BSlider. We are using the same javascript library used in BB though to avoid any conflict.Boxslider is the name of the javasript lib.

I am curious on the slider because of the way it’s flush with the edges of the page.

Can you try removing it and testing if that helps?

And or, I can jump in and do some of these tests, but I’ll need an admin and preferably (s)ftp login info. =O

Also, repeating my earlier question here: is this happening on any other pages than the home page?

Thanks!

We removed the slide on a staging install:

http://staging3.shopper.behladev.com/blog/

and it’s still moving, same login.

Andrew, thanks for checking on that for me. If you can please respond to all the points in my last post, I can keep helping you out.

We’re working on getting an iPad to test with, too. Thanks! I am going to test on Browser Stack too.

Hi Andrew,

Doing our forum housekeeping and was wondering if this has now been resolved?

I’m marking the topic as resolved, but let us know if the issue remains.

Thanks,
Danny

HI Danny, we fixed it on our end, thanks.
