Sliders not working

I am trying to build a page. Every time I add a testimonial or content slider, and then click “done”, and “save draft”, it wipes all of the content out.

Hi Lauren,

Would it be possible for you to disable all active plugins except for BB and see if the issue persists.

If it does, please provide a link to your site, along with admin username/password. Be sure to check the set as private option when replying with this information.

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Lauren,

I have just successfully added the Testimonials module to this a page I created and it is working as intended - http://leanderpetcare.com/?page_id=9106

Therefore, it is very likely that you have something on the page you’re trying to add it to that is causing the issue.

Thanks,
Danny

Thanks for your help.

No problem Lauren. Out of curiosity, what was the cause of the issue?

Thanks,
Danny

This is still not working :frowning: I have disabled all plugins. I am trying to add the testimonial slider to my homepage draft (the pet sitting scoop-draft). I was able to add a few testimonials, and save it. It looked good. I went back and added the rest of the testimonials. Saved the testimonials as a global version titled “testimonials”. Saved draft. All content wiped out on my the page I am building. Global version still there, but with no testimonials and no media (I had added a picture to each testimonial). I am at a loss for what to do now.

Correction: I have disabled all plugins, other than beaver builder.
Correction: the global version of testimonials is still there, but with no testimonials and no media.

I tried making a global testimonial slider again (saved as testimonial 1). Clicked save. When I clicked to edit the testimonial again, I got this error
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/leanderp/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bb-plugin/includes/settings.php on line 19

And once again all content wiped out when I saved draft.

Hi Lauren,

I apologise, you’re still experiencing issues. I have just added another testimonial to a test page on your site called BB Danny Test and I am not encountering any issue.

The page has a non-global Testimonial module and a global too. Both testimonials are working as intended and no content is wiped upon clicking Save Draft. You can view the page here - http://leanderpetcare.com/?page_id=9106

Therefore, would it be possible for you to record a video of your issue, so I can see the steps you’re taking and use that to try and recreate the problem. I recommend using either Jing or QuickCast.

Please, be aware that support is limited on weekends. However, I will try my upmost to keep an eye on this topic over the weekend. Until the issue is resolved.

Thanks,
Danny

Hey Lauren,

I’ve duplicated that page on the link below and I’m able to add dummy testimonials, a lot of them, with not problems at all.

What browser are you using and on what OS? Does the problem only happen when you add a Testimonial module? Does it happen if you only add one testimonial?

Ben

Hi Ben,

I am using Chrome on Windows 8.1 This only happens with the testimonial and the testimonial module and the content slider. I have now made many pages using other modules and haven’t run into this issue with the other modules. It has not happened when I add just one testimonial. It happens with multiple testimonials. I tried to add the testimonial module again this morning after clearing browsing data/cookies and had the same issue again.

I went into the page that you duplicated http://leanderpetcare.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=9220&action=edit and tried editing those testimonials with the testimonials and media I want on the page, and had the same issue again.

I just tried editing the testimonial slider you made on the copy page, using my tablet, and once again this issue happened.

Hi Lauren,

When you say “Using your Tablet”, do you mean you’re trying to use Beaver Builder’s page builder to build a page on your tablet?

Thanks,
Danny

Because the testimonial slider was not working when i used my laptop, I tried using pagebuilder to make a testimonial slider using my tablet. I have not been able to make a successful testimonial slider from either laptop or tablet.

Hi Lauren,

I have edited that page and added two Testimonial modules, both are working as intended. Therefore, as both Ben and I are able to add, edit and remove the modules, my only conclusion is that you have something on your system causing the problem.

Can you try the following suggestions please:

  1. Disable all active extensions in Chrome, if you have any installed/active. Then see if the issue persists.

  2. If you do not have it installed, download FireFox and attempt again to add, edit the module. Then see if the issue persists.

  3. Create a new admin account on your site and whilst logged into this account, see if you encounter the issue.

Let us know the outcome once you have tried the above.

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Danny,

I tried all 3 of the above suggestions and it is still not working. I click save draft and all content is wiped out on the page.

Hi Lauren,

I really am sorry to hear that the suggestions above, haven’t resolved your issue. I must say it is very odd that both Ben and I are not able to recreate the issue on your site.

However, odd this may sound, is it possible for you to try a different computer, not a tablet, but a different computer and see if the issue persists.

Thanks,
Danny
