Social Icons not appearing in Microsoft Edge or IE

I’m having an issue with a staging version of a site (http://dploy.cbgclients.com/), where according to a colleague who is testing using Microsoft Edge, the social icons in the Top Bar are not showing up. Instead, the equivalent text that represents the icon (i.e. “f” for Facebook etc) is showing up there instead. I just tried it with a Windows Machine that has IE and it does the same.

I don’t have Edge and I can’t reproduce it in Firefox, Safari, or Chrome. Is there something I’m missing?

Clarification: I’m using the Mono Social Icons font to display the icons.

From what I can tell it’s installed correctly. And like I said, works in Firefox, Chrome, Safari… not IE or Edge.

Hi Jose,

There is an open issue on the Mono Social Icons Font GitHub. Where a user has reported the same thing. Therefore, this is related to the icons themselves and not BB. I recommend you post a response to the issue (linked below).

Ok I’ve posted it there. Now Wait… I’ve completely forgotten how to change the Social Icons font from Mono to Font Awesome. Where do I change that??

Hi Jose,

Unfortunately, I believe the Top Header bar only supports the Mono icons.

Danny

Some more weird behavior… The icons don’t work on the http://dploy.cbgclients.com/ site in IE, as I mentioned. But they DO work on another site-in-progress, http://cumasu.orclients.com/

I can’t figure out why.

Hi Jose,

I would mention this in the issue tracker on the GitHub repo.

All the best,
Danny
