Hey Burnell,

Welcome to the BB forums!

This is actually a permalinks issue. I checked your site’s Permalink structure and it is set correctly as Postname. The issue, however, is that the htaccess file on your install is not writable. Check the screenshot below for reference.

Hello Ben,

Thanks
Whats the fix then im no sure how to alter htaccess file correctly???

Please tell me exactly how to alter the htaccess file?

Why was i able to save and design other pages on the site?

How did this problem occur?

Hey Burnell,

You can resolve this by either A. giving your .htaccess file the correct permission(you can use an FTP client like Filezilla to do this) or B. edit the file yourself, this again can be done through an FTP client like Filezilla.

Set the permission to 644 and if that doesn’t work try 744 then 777. If you resort to 777 make sure that you change it back to 644 after WP has finished writing on the file. You can see if it’s working by going to Settings > Permalinks in your WP Admin.

Re the code, yes that is correct.

Just to throw in my 2-cents - occasionally I get a ‘sorry that page doesn’t seem to exist’ error after I have finished editing a page, and BB has refreshed the page, but does not show the page I was working on, but the error.
No pattern to it, it just seems to occassionly do this!
Cheers, dave

Hey Burnell,

Sorry but I can’t seem to recreate your issue on your site. I created a test page, slapped a template to the page, and published the page. Everything worked fine. I then edited the page, change some contents, and published the page. Everything worked fine again. I did not see any error messages at all. What does the error say? Can you take a screenshot? Can you list down the steps needed to recreate the issue?

Ben

Go to either page diy online classes or Work with Coach and try to create a page on my site www.burnellneblett.com and you will see the problem im having and the error message which is the title of this message by the way. Give me an email address and i will send screenshots.

Hi Burnell,

I just tried it and as what Ben mentioned, we can’t reproduce the error. Went to the DIY page and created a new page in there and didn’t encounter any errors. I was able to create two pages from this test alone but set them both to private, you’re free to delete them. See screencast of the test below.

Hey Burnell,

You can upload images to an image sharing community like imgur then post the links here so we can check.

On two pages, any changes I make through page builder aren’t sticking once I click “publish”. Basically the page looks like it did before I made any changes.

However, if I click on the Page Builder edit link again, the changes I wanted to make are still there, in draft form.

So essentially it looks like the changes I want to make are being saved as a draft, but not being published. hers the error message i get…Sorry! That page doesn’t seem to exist.

Hey Burnell,

I just made a change on DIY Online Classes and the changes applied, didn’t get any errors at all.

Also, http://www.burnellneblett.com/diyonlineclasses is not the correct address, the correct one is http://www.burnellneblett.com/home/diy-online-classes/

I added extra exclamation marks after the “Schedule a consultation now!”
