SSL / HTTP - problem with page builder not launching

Howdy Beavers!

I did a search and didn’t come up with anything useful.

The problem - I have a site that uses SSL/HTTPS for it’s Donation and Join pages, as it’s required for Stripe payment processing.

I’m using iThemes Security to selectively enable SSL on those pages, rather than using it site-wide, as there’s no reason to on other pages and would slow the site down (which may not be a big deal).

The problem: on any pages that do NOT have SSL enabled, the Page Builder will not launch.

Any thoughts/fixes for this?

I’ll give admin access in a private reply…

Hey Keith,

I just checked your Website. Sorry, I haven’t really use iThemes Security plugin before. Could you probably create a page without the SSL so we can have a better look at your issue?

Thanks!

KC

Sorry about that - I enabled site-wide SSL so I could fix a few things and forgot to disable it.

It’s again disabled except on the Donation and Join pages. You won’t see the Admin bar and nothing happens when you try to launch Page Builder on any other page.

Hey Keith,

I’ve already assigned another member of the team to assist you with your concern.

Thanks!

Hey Keith,

I believe the issue has to do with cross-domain login. It looks like wp-admin is in https, so I’m logging into the https version of the site. When you try to edit a builder page on the http version, you’re not logged in there so it won’t load the builder. You should be able to notice that as the admin bar isn’t present on http pages as well.

I’m not sure what your setup looks like, but you might see if you can somehow set the login cookie for both http and https. I believe some plugins do that, not sure which though. Alternatively, you can make the entire site https fixing the issue and keeping the NSA out at the same time!
