Hi,
is there an easy way that BB uses a different lightbox (in case you link a picture to the lightbox). I think it’s magnificent popup you use, right?

Hey Thomas,
Just letting you know I’m checking in with the team on this one.
Thanks!
KC
Hey KC,
ok thanks!
Hi Thomas!
I hate to say it, but there isn’t an “easy” way to do this. It is doable, though. You have a couple of options:
First, you can override any of our modules in your theme. There’s some instructions on how to do this here:
http://forum.wpbeaverbuilder.com/custom-module-documentation/#override-built-in
Also, you could probably disable any lightbox options in Beaver Builder and use a different plugin or script.
Either option will likely require some coding, though.
Out of curiosity, why do you want to use a different lightbox? Is there something we can improve with ours? Thanks!
Hi Robby,
thanks for your reply and the link. I will have a look if this would be a way to go and get back if I have any issues with it.
Regarding your question : Magnific popup is great because it is really fast and lightweight, supports retina. But that’s it, and for many that will be enough I think. But I am a photographer and I wish a bit more. It doesn’t have to be something like foobox out of the box but at least the possibility for some social sharing or swipe would be great.
I must admit that I didn’t check swipe functionality with Magnific Popup version of BB but it does not support out of box. PhotoSwipe also by D. Semenov (creator of Magnific) can handle all this and stays fast & lean.
Cheers,
Thomas
Thomas, good to know! Thanks so much for explaining.
No problem. You’re welcome!
Cheers
Hi,
there is no lightbox module to switch off and in this case overwrite.
To be honest, as I said I am photographer, I have pictures on all my pages and posts that I want in another lightbox than magnific and if I have to stick to your lightbox this completely renders whole BB unusable for me. That would be a pity.
I have an IT developer background, I don’t do php and js, but if you tell me what to do it’s no problem to implement that in the necessary files etc.
I would really appreciate if you would support me in this case otherwise BB won’t be of any use to me any more.
Thanks!
Thomas
Hmmm, just thought about that again (happens often after writing )
If another lightbox let’s say takes up html code through html links I won’t be able to use your “photo” or “gallery” modules any more I would have to put in a html block and put my html in there which the lightbox need to “pick” up, right? Ok that would be a possible solution but it really would be way better if there would be something like a link from your photo module.
Cheers,
Thomas
Thomas, glad to hear you’re discovering some options. Like I said originally, this likely wont be an easy task.
Another option would be to scrap using Beaver Builder’s modules all together. If you can find another Gallery plugin, you can use other plugins with Beaver Builder if they provide widgets or short codes.
Hope you find something that works. I’ll keep thinking about it, too! =)
