Text Editor in BB

Hi:

Are you using the standard WP text editor? The text editor in BB isn’t showing all the options that I would see if I were to edit a standard post or edit a standard page in WP. In some cases, plugins that installed a button above the standard WP text editor (such as gravity forms and formidable forms pro) don’t have their buttons displayed in the BB text editor. Is this by design?

Edited to add this: The text editor in BB also cannot be resized. And, the one button that does show up at the top of the editor doesn’t work. Looks like BB is preventing it from opening up its popup window.

Thanks.

Hey Nigel,

Yes, we are using the WP text editor, but not allowing 3rd party extensions. That is by design as they introduce too many unknown incompatibilities/bugs. Sorry about that! Your best bet is to grab your shortcodes from the standard WP editor and put them into a BB HTML module. You are also correct in that the text editor module cannot be resized, but we will be looking at enhancing the UI a bit later this year in that regard.

Best,
Billy

Huh. Ok. Its not just the shortcodes. Its the styles and all the other options that plugins add to the editor. Maybe you can make it an OPTION to enable plugins so that those of us that want it can at least make the attempt to use it with the plugins turned on?

That’s good feedback, Nigel. You can add that as a feature request if you like and we’ll take a look at some point.

Best,
Billy
