TinyMCE Text Editor not displaying

Hello, I’m getting the error “tinyMCEPreInit is not defined” (details at the bottom) when editing any text block. Basically, the editor doesn’t load so I can’t see the text I’m editing.

I’m on GoDaddy’s Managed WP Hosting (NOT regular shared), which probably might not matter except I’ve had issues with other managed WP hosts and aggressive caching breaking things.

I’ve disabled most plugins that I felt might cause an issue, with no success. In order to disable all of them I’ll have to duplicate the site elsewhere as several plugins have to be running which I might not get a chance to do for a few days. I’m hoping maybe you guys have seen this before and can point in the right direction?

Beaver Builder caught the following JavaScript error. If Beaver Builder is not functioning as expected the cause is most likely this error. Please help us by disabling all plugins and testing Beaver Builder while reactivating each to determine if the issue is related to a third party plugin.

Hi Harvey,

I can’t offer any suggestions regarding the TinyMCE issue, other than perhaps it may have something to do with HTTPS, but I believe that you can rule out the GoDaddy Managed WordPress hosting.

I have 5 WP sites on GD Managed WP, all with Dynamik Website Builder and Beaver Builder and all work as expected. The GD ‘Must Use’ (mu-plugins in the wp-content folder) do not (at least for me) interfere with BB.

Have you tried the ‘Flush Cache’ function in the toolbar at the top of the WP Dashboard?

Cheers!
Lyle

Hi Lyle,

Thanks for the response. I have flushed the cache, although perhaps I need to wait a bit before retrying.

The possibility of https is interesting, but they all seem to load just fine (no 404 or other errors).

I’ll keep digging.

Hey Harvey,

Thanks for getting in touch! Sorry but I haven’t actually seen this kind of problem before. But it does really sound like a 3rd party plugin conflict. Were you by chance able to create a duplicate of the site elsewhere?

Ben

Just wanted to close this out. It turns out it was my fault

After making a local duplicate of the site and disabling all plugins I was still getting the error. Turns out I had put a little snippet in the theme a while ago to move some BB js into the footer (I guess it was working at one point). Removing that snippet fixed the error. I still have all JS in the footer via another plugin.

Hey Harvey,

Glad you got it figured out! Have fun with The Beaver!

Ben
