I working on a WordPress setup on a localhost using desktopServer.
The beaver builder plugin will not update through the wp-admin. I have the licence key is entered.
I de-activated beaverBuilder, then deleted it. I then downloaded and installed the update manually.
I am wondering if there is an issue with updating the plugin because it is on a localhost. I don’t want the final end user of the site to have to go through this process.
You’ll find more on this problem with a forum search.
But I’ll share my experience with this. I’m also using Desktop Server and I find that if Chrome is set at the system’s default browser, that the BB plugin will sometimes update as it should. It never does when using Firefox.
I just usually download the latest version of BB and update the plugin manually.
On live sites I’ve never had a problem with the plug-in updating as it should.
Like what Rod said, this shouldn’t be a problem once you launch the site to a live URL. But if it is, you can definitely let us know so we can check it for you.
The problem with local installs is that we don’t have access to it(we don’t do remote support) and each install has its own unique configuration and environment(firewalls, antiviruses, and etc) which might be causing the issue. But you shouldn’t have problems installing the new versions manually though, and it should be quick.
Hope this helps and let us know if you need anything further!
