URGENT: Glitch - Can't edit content or add new content

Having an issue with the page builder. I have multiple times now had content blocks (specifically text editor blocks - that may be the only issue) that after editing I cannot edit again. They are stuck on the page. I have had to discard the draft completely and restart new - very frustrating.

Now I have an issue where the page will not update. We are trying to add text blocks and you can drag and drop and edit the text block but when you save it disappears. But when you refresh you can see the content, but you can’t edit it. The builder on our homepage is a mess. Here is an example: http://www.screencast.com/t/LoKh9jcC. The ‘Welcome to Exponential Manufacturing’ blocks are blocks that are stuck there.

Please help!

Hey Exponentialadmin,

I tried creating a test page and it works just fine there. I can’t help but notice, you’re running the WP-Optimize plugin. I had an issue before where I think that plugin caused DB corruption. Looking at the homepage, this may well be the case. I would suggest turning off that plugin for now, or any other plugin that optimizes/caches data. It’s not really advisable to turn them on while building the site.

About to try that but the text editor is acting up in general. It’s been adding all kind of extra HTML to everything I do. And I know it’s not happening consistently but did you try a new page with the text editor?

Hey Exponentialadmin,

I tried it earlier and I tried it again just now. I’ll post in a separate private reply the link to the page I just made.

Yes but that’s just plain text - I’ve been using HTML elements to add classes, IDs and to style the text and that’s what’s been messing up. And I turned off WP-Optimize but my front page is still a mess.

Hey Exponentialadmin,

Now that you mentioned it, I had another look and it seems that you had an extra closing </div> on your HTML module which closed another div inside the builder breaking the layout. I removed it and it seems to be working fine now.

Anyway, check the thread below Leo created regarding cache and optimization plugins.

Have fun!

Hi Ben,

Thank you for doing that! Much appreciated. Although, important thing to note is that those extra divs are being randomly added in the text and HTML modules. I didn’t add that myself. I keep going back and seeing modules littered with extra a, p, divs, etc. But I turned off WP-Optimize so fingers crossed that fixes it. I’ll let you know if I see it again. Thanks.

Hey Exponentialadmin,

I know the Text Editor module sometimes closes tags on its own so I’d rather you use HTML modules if you’re placing custom tags. Definitely let us know if it comes up again!

Ben

I know - I use the text editor and HTML modules all the time. This is completely different. This isn’t a one tag thing, it adds a bunch of tags randomly throughout the text. I’ll let you know if I see that problem again but I haven’t been able to duplicate it - it just happens sometimes.
